I want to be specific today because specificity matters.
Transgender and nonbinary people are carrying so much right now. What is happening around the country is not abstract, and it is not distant. It shows up in everyday moments - in conversations, in policies, in the quiet calculations people have to make just to move through their day. It affects real people in real ways, every single day. It affects our friends, our coworkers, our families, our children, and members of our community who should never have to wonder whether they are safe, respected, or allowed to simply be themselves.
That is why I do not want to stay vague or speak in broad terms. I want to say this clearly and without hesitation:
Transgender and nonbinary people are welcome here.
You belong here. Fully. Without qualification. You deserve to be treated with dignity here. Your identity is real, your life matters, and your presence makes this community stronger, more thoughtful, and more human.
For me, this is deeply personal. Leadership is not just about speaking up when something is easy or popular. It is about showing up - especially in difficult moments - and making sure people know they are seen, valued, and not alone. When people in our community are being targeted, silence can feel heavy. It can feel like being overlooked at the exact moment support is needed most.
I do not want anyone in our workplace - especially our transgender and nonbinary colleagues - to have to guess where we stand or wonder if they are truly supported.
I see you. I respect you. I value you. And I am genuinely proud that you are part of this team and this community.
And I want to be equally clear: support is not a statement reserved for Pride Month. It is not performative or temporary. It is an ongoing commitment. It shows up in how we treat one another day to day. In how we listen when someone shares their experience. In how we speak up when something is not right. In the small, consistent choices that build a culture where people can show up as themselves and know they are respected and safe.
To our transgender and nonbinary colleagues: thank you. Thank you for who you are, for what you bring, and for the courage and resilience it can take to move through the world authentically. Your presence matters here more than words can fully capture.
And to everyone reading this: please continue showing up for one another - with care, with empathy, and with courage. Check in on your colleagues. Use affirming language. Be intentional. Small acts of support, words of affirmation, and visible solidarity matter more than we sometimes realize.
You never know when a simple moment of kindness or acknowledgment can make someone feel seen.
You are not alone here. Not today, not this month, and not beyond it.
We are in this together.
