National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is observed every year on September 27 to spotlight the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS on gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM). Founded in 2008 by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA), this day calls attention to the intersection of HIV with racism, homophobia, stigma, and other social determinants of health. According to AIDSVu, MSM accounted for 67% of all new HIV diagnoses in the U.S. in 2022, with significant disparities among Black and Hispanic/Latino men. The day encourages education, testing, and open conversations to reduce stigma and promote health equity. [National G...t - AIDSVu]
