We thought you wild and crazy boys and girls might want to know how the Cares Project came out. (We will be presenting all the goodies to the Boulder County Safehouse as soon as it can be arranged.)
Here's the list of items:
- Checks that total close to $700. Is this FANTASTIC or what!
- Teddy Bears. (Thanks, Minnesota.)
- A computer modem. (Again, those Minnesotoooooans.) That's different.
- Many AT&T PrePaid Cards. (They will LOVE these.) (Thanks, El Paso and New England.)
- Clothes collected in Denver and about eight boxes of clothes that have been mailed to them. (Thanks, New England and New Jersey.)
What a Mid-Year We're all exhausted here from those great sessions and maybe just a little bit tired from exploring Denver.
And by the way, you all took the good weather with you it's cold and rainy today!
FYI: Kevin (Jacksonville) is better (bad ear infection). He stayed over 'til today. Hopefully, the flight back to Jacksonville will be OK. (We both were surprised when we had to go through a metal detector just to get to the emergency room! Wouldn't you know, Kevin set the alarm off and had to get the once over, but I passed right through undetected.)
LEAGUE Denver has many highlights to remember from the '98 Mid-Year, thanks to all of you!
We can't wait for Minnesota in May! (Remember to practice those Minnesota sayings! We want to fit in don't ya know.)

Subject: Mid-year AT&T Cares ProjectEsteemed Champions,
Our folks never cease to amaze me! Every time LEAGUE gets together for a meeting or conference, we also do an AT&T Cares project. This past weekend we had our '98 Mid-Year Leadership Meeting in Denver. About 40 people attended from around the country.
Our Denver chapter hosts organized our Cares Project to support the Boulder County Safe House for battered women and gave our meeting attendees a list of "wants" to fill. You saw the results in Linda F's note.
